Green Bay Packers are always one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NFL for me. They have a great fan base and the team has been playing pretty good football. The Packers have a 4-2 record after seven weeks of football, but they’re in second place in the NFC North division. Minnesota Vikings are first place in the division right now with a 6-1 record. The Vikings already beat the Packers once this year as well. The Packers will have a chance for revenge at Lambeau Field though this week as they host the Vikings.

The big story of the game will obviously be that Favre will be making his debut appearance in Green Bay with a different uniform on his back. The bigger story for the Packers team is whether or not they can win the game. If they lose the game next week against then Vikings then they’ll be pretty much done for the season. The only option they would have is a wild card spot, but they would need to have a huge second half to the season if they are going into week 9 with a 4-3 record.

The Packers best game of the season came in week 1 when they beat their rival Chicago Bears in a close nfl betting game. The other wins that Green Bay has amassed this season were all against teams that they should beat including the Rams, Browns and Lions. There other loss on the season came against the Bengals in a high scoring shootout. Going into week 8 the Packers have several things to be happy about. The offence has been clicking on all cylinders so far and has been averaging 26.8 points per game. The Green Bay offence is also 10th in league with 258.3 passing yard per game and 13th in the league with 118 yards rushing per game.

Aaron Rodgers is finally getting some of the respect that he deserves in Green Bay now that Favre is out of the question. Rodgers has posted a 110.8 QB rating in six games this year and has only been picked off a total of 2 times all season while throwing 11 TD’s. Ryan Grant is 5 yards away from breaking the 500 yard rushing mark on the season and he also has 3TD’s so far. Donald Driver has been leading the receivers this season with 27 catches for 479 yards and 3 TD’s. Greg Jennings, Donald Lee, Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant have all caught over 10 passes apiece this season as well.

Green Bay has been playing pretty good on defence as well. The only problem with Green Bay is that they have been playing good against horrible teams, but then giving up a lot of points to the good teams. On the season the Packers defence has given up an average of 16 points per game which is 5th best in the league. They also only give up a total of 271.5 yards per game which is good for 3rd in the league at this point. I feel the defensive stats are a bit misleading though. The Packers shutout the Lions and only gave up a FG to the Browns, but then against the Bengals they gave up 31 and then against the Vikings they gave up 30.
